It's been a long time since I last tackled Online Scoreboards.

Not just the complexity of having online scoreboards in the first place, but also all those little things, like managing accounts, and using passwords, and all the other things that come with online stuff.
I've spent a good number of years, trying to come to come up with the best method of logging in, which would work equally on PC with a keyboard, OUYA with a gamepad and iOS with a touchscreen.. (and everything in between.)

A couple of weeks ago, I figured to hell with all of that.
If I continue to worry about passwords, email reminders, and complicated things like that, I'll never actually get around to doing this stuff.
So, instead, I've wimped out.
No longer will I have to create my own XBox Live interface, with a massive sprawling network of data, storing your awarded badges, collecting all your best highscores, using avatars, and more.

No. There'll be none of that.
Instead, you stick your name in the box, it uploads your best scores, and that's about the end of it.

It's a massive, massive downgrade on my original intention, but it works..
And it work NOW, as opposed to in about 60 years once I get all of the other stuff working!!

And it seems to work reasonably well.

The test game, "Mini Clampett", is available to try out, here.
I'm now going to try to fix up the previous few games to incorporate the scoreboards (and the flicker fix!) but I'll hold them back until after Mini Clampett has managed to get through OUYA Review. .. Just in case!

Meanwhile, I'm also attempting to make a nice webby interface so you can see the current leaderboards online, which should be easy enough, if only I could be arsed to faff about with more sodding databases!
