A Decade On Blog
8th March 2022
It's been a decade since the horrors of my brain tumour/cyst gubbins, and over the past couple of days I've been kind of a bit gloomy, and have sat reading through memories of what is easily one of the worst periods of my life.

Oh joy!!

-=-=-

The SoCoder thread has been preserved in its original state, with obscure tales of hospitalyness, and a whole array of mistypings on my part. Whether those are down to my condition, or the fact I was stuck using a horrible HTC Wildfire 1st-gen Android device, I'm not 100% sure.

But there we have it. Ten years on, the headaches are NOWHERE NEAR as bad. I can happily ignore them, and carry on coding through even the worst migraine, having suffered with a freakin' brain tumour for years.

Nowadays my issues are balance and motion sickness related, and my stamina's down to about 2% or so. The past month of me trying to refit my bedroom has certainly been a reminder of that.
What I would've previously been able to accomplish in just a few days, has taken me an entire month of doing things bit by bit, little by little.

I'm still not heading outside too often, my walking's all wobbly, and standing still is practically impossible with my stumbling backwards every few seconds due to the dizziness.
Aaah, the fun.

But I keep on going, and I try to keep my mind occupied and busy with all the many many things that I CAN do, whilst seated in front of a computer.

"Bad posture" they said..
"Always on his computer" they complained....
No it bloody well wasn't.

Grrr..

I'll leave you with this photo, that I found in my old (the Shitty HTC Wildfire) phone, last night.
It's the pic I took the first time I left the hospital. Happy to have finally escaped, but unknowingly about to end up right back inside again, only a week or so later!

Stay safe, everybody.
*hugs*
