Spent Far Too Long on This Blog

Yesterday I ended up browsing Amazon to see if I could find full-sized printable Floppy Disk labels.

-=-=-

Could I find any? Could I heck!
Normal printable floppy disk labels seem to be a rectangle that sticks onto the front of the disk. All nice and proper, like they oughta be.
I've glanced through all my old Amiga disks, and .. yes indeed, all the printed labels in my huge drawer of games are of that variety.

(Came free with my Amiga!)

Except .. No, that's not what I want!! I'm going to be a fussy bugger, here.
When you bought Blank floppy disks, they came with a label that went all the way up, and curled around the back. There's a groove in the floppy disk to accommodate this.

That's what I want!!! But printable.
Can I find that?
Can I 'eck.

I'll likely have to get plain sticker paper, and cut out the shape, but given my shaky hands, that won't exactly be a perfect thing.
Grr.

In the meantime, then, I gave myself something else to cut out.
Each game in the archive now has a link to create a "Disk Envelope".

Cut out and keep your disks safe
No glue required, just a little cut+folding.

The bottom flap folds up holding the disk in place, the right flap goes into the circular flap on the back. It's not exactly super secure, but it is a nice little thing to wrap around a disk!

I've made it so that the disk pokes out a bit at the top, to make it easier to pull out without needing to undo the flap every time.

Is it perfect?
No.

Is it another crazy addition to the site?
Sure

Did it take me about 3 hours to get it right?!
Abso-bloomin-lutely!

Meanwhile...

Started this week's SmileBASIC game, eventually, late last night.
Shoot-em-up with bouncy bullets.. Careful not to blow yourself up!
Today will be balancing the game, and hopefully releasing it later on.
Busy day ahead!!
