As much as I'm trying my best not to over-moderate things, over at SoCoder, it can be really tricky sometimes.

Yesterday a user posted an image to the shoutbox. The image was hotlinked from another site, and no further content was provided.
I suggested that, rather than "facebooking" the site to death, that a coding/creativity forum oughta be more about created content, to which the original author got annoyed, complained about wanting to bring attention to the original site, and then promptly deleted their post.

Hey, I'm all for highlighting other sites, but hotlinking an image from their server, then not even providing a link back.. ? That's kinda the wrong way to go about that, right?!
Especially if you want to highlight their site...

Or is that just me being "Crazy-Moderator" again?

I dunno.

I'm really struggling with the moderation stuff lately. The past few months on the forum seems to have been gripe after gripe after gripe, and I'm trying my best not to Lord over things, but..
