New games every week!
Repeat Blog
21st June 2011
This week, I started a game on a grid.
It started well enough, with a lovely grid-doodling method making nice colourful griddy squares, and a simple circle on the top for the player. Then I got to the point where I had to do character movement, and my head just kinda went "Ugh.. I just can't be arsed!!"

Hmm..
...
So I took a day off, and if you've been following me on Twitter, you'd've seen I spent about 6 hours rewatching the start of Star Trek : Enterprise. That was a nice change!

Another day, another game idea.
I started by making a bunch of colourful blocks on the screen, and slapped another little temporary circle character to push said blocks around a bit.
...or at least, I started to make him push the block around, but then I had to do the whole "move x/y/z object" thing, and the "be sure x/y/z objects aren't pushing over other x/y/z objects" thing, and all that crap.
My head, again, said "Can't be arsed!!!" and.. well.. Star Trek was calling!

tum-tee-tum!

Monday.
Started a new game.
Figured my head didn't want to do blocky griddy movement, so I went the opposite direction and made a nice swirly mouse based thing.
I played about with said swirly mouse thing for about 20 minutes before giving up trying to figure out what kind of game it could possibly be, without it being something I've already done 20-odd times before.

Three games in a week, all a bag of crap.

Pants..

So, what to post?
Well, if you go and re-download Sheep Goes Left, you'll find it'll now go all the way up to World 20!
No more the demo that it once was, the full freeware edition is now all the way out there!

Grab it, play it, enjoy it, be killed 1,000,000 times, shout at it, and then tell all your friends to buy it on the iPhings!

In addition to that, try pressing E on the menu, and see if you can figure out all the baffling bits and pieces that make up the lovely editor!
