PlayMyCode : Template 2 Blog
17th July 2011
Today I coded a nice Tower Defence game, and then started to implement Template 2, for the next bunch of AGameADay games.

PlayMyCode no longer works

Template 2 honestly isn't that much different than Template 1 was.
In fact, if I wasn't writing this blog, I'm not 100% sure that anyone would notice that much.
There's been a number of background changes, though, and since I'm doing this whole Daily Blog thing, I might as well fill my quota and spout random garbage about the new/tweaked stuff.

Layout Comments!
The old comments are intact, but now there's a neat little "What's Where" thing up at the top.
I kept finding myself telling people "The game code's at the bottom", so I figured it needed this up at the top!
The first screen you'll see when editing any of my games (from tomorrow's game onwards) will be the little layout description.
It's not a lot, but it's probably helpful to someone, somewhere.

Credits/New Sprites!!
Since I'm now using a few Submitted Sprites (Feel free to send more!) I need to quickly add little credits to the games.
This has been achieved using the sprite-artist's self made logo, within the submitted spritesheets.
They pop up nice and neatly on the menu, at the bottom right, and randomly switch from sheet to sheet..
Job Done!

HTML5
There's a little HTML5 label on the top right of the menu. If you hover over it, you'll get a nice description about PlayMyCode.com.
People didn't seem to be picking up the whole HTML5 deal, and were simply assuming these were Flash games.
Hopefully this'll help a bit.

New Grid
Instead of having the plain blue gridded background, I've switched for a sort of swirly cracked one.
Looks different...
It might get annoying, and want to be switched back, but for the meantime, it's new!!

Um...
I think that's everything...
Can't think what else I've done.

Tweakage appears tomorrow in whatever ends up being tomorrow's game..
?!
Could be anything!
