Aftermath : Blockman Worlds Blog
19th April 2014
Yesterday I tweeted that Blockman Worlds isn't doing too well, at which point I got bombarded by people telling me that they've played it, and how I oughta give it time to spread.

Yeah, probably..
Thing is, though, I'm finding myself comparing it to Future Classics..-=-=-

oddstats
You can see my Complete OUYA Download Stats here.

Future Classics was 7 terrible looking games, wrapped up in a nasty 8-bit bundle.
Blockman is a lovingly crafted Pac-man Puzzler, with over 3000 levels.

and yet Future Classics is leaps and bounds ahead of Blockman, in OUYA download stats. The GameJolt stats are similar, in that Blockman's currently had 62 plays, whilst Future Classics has 126.
Curiously, my own Jayenkai Archive shows the opposite, where Blockman's already had 213 views, but Future Classic's only had 92.

From these stats, I'm pretty much 100% certain about what's happening, here.

My regulars, eg you guys, are all going "Ooooh, New Blockman game!" and rushing to grab it from my Archive.
On the other side of the coin, people who are new to AGameAWeek (OUYA and GameJolt players) are looking at a Pacman image and going "Bah, another sodding Pacman clone.." and largely ignoring it.

That's my reckoning, anyway.

The iOS edition of Blockman Worlds is currently waiting review, and should be available Monday or Tuesday, or thereabouts, depending on whether or not they allow it.
In the meantime, enjoy the 3,000+ levels, and be happy in the knowledge that nobody else is!!

And thanks for sticking with AGameAWeek!
