Developments

Not a lot of progress, yesterday.
A LOT of stuff happened, but nothing substantial enough that I can show it off!
I started adding background layers to SpikeDislike3, but at the minute it's all nasty looking temporary art. I'm quite surprised, however, that it worked as well as it did in the Faux-3D mode. Mmm.. Parallax!

It took a LOT of effort to get the new elements in place, and I'm hoping that the iPhings (at least) can cope with everything that's going on.
Seriously, this game has WAY too many random sprites being flung around on the screen at once. I'm totally going overboard, and will no doubt have to scale RIGHT back once I try it out on my poor little iPod Touch!

Daily Doodle : Been Shoppin'

A recurring theme in the Daily Platdude Pixelarts, is Platdude's apparent love of shopping! I'm not entirely sure that'd make a good game, but he's on his way home again, Jiggity Jig!

Mailbag

Today's mail comes from "Cray-Cray Warbot"



I have to say, I've never been a fan of that game. It always seemed WAY too random, to me, and unlike other games of the genre, there's no way to make any kind of decent Combo system. Instead, you're left frantically trying to control the rapidly falling snakes, and it all seems a little too fast paced to have any kind of control over what's happening.
If I were to attempt anything of the sort, it'd probably involve one single snake, and a whole load of edible/none-edible elements, but then you're looking at a game more like Pac-Attack, and by that point I tend to remember that I much prefer PuyoPop, so I might as well do a clone of that, instead... In fact, why bother, when there's already so many great editions of that?

So, I guess that's my answer.
If I attempted this, my take on it would be "I'd rather just play PuyoPop!"
Some games are just TOO good.
