Developments

The first part of my Game Archive Overhaul is now mostly complete.

The new version is up and running, and available in the usual place that my archive usually is..
Right here!

New features include a secondary description, listed controls and a slightly better "Why not try.." section, which will eventually be used to list similar titles from the same game series.
Right now it doesn't do that, though, as it requires me going through the whole bloomin' archive adding the new info into the thing. And there's LOADS to do.. (348 games, as I write this...)
It'll certainly be keeping me occupied when I've nothing else to work on!

As for now, the engine seems stable enough, and the database doesn't appear to have exploded yet, so I've gone ahead and switched out the old archive for the new one.

On the techy side, all the old links are still fully functional, and everything runs a teensy bit smoother. The php script is now about 1/3 the size of the original, too, (48k vs 113k!) and is marginally more manageable when things need tweaking. .. I think! .. Maybe..

.. Now to get back to this week's AGameAWeek.. And I only have .. Oh dear, is it Monday, already!?
