Does your scanner work?

I figured it was probably about time I sat down to do the big archiving of all my photos.
We've got thousands of the things, and one of the reasons I bought an all-in-one Printer/Scanner was specifically so I could sit down and scan the whole lot into the PC.
Then I tried it, and it took this long to do a single-pass scan, at which point I pretty much abandoned the photo-scanning task altogether!

Yesterday I reattempted things.
If I shove a USB Thumbdrive into the front of the printer, I can get it to scan directly onto there, so I tried that out last night, and it cut the time down to about 20 seconds, which is a damn sight better than it was before.
But just for comparison, and since I recently sped up my network quite a bit, I figured I'd re-test a standard scan.

At this point, I realised I hadn't scanned anything since installing Win10.
And .. that's when I started to noticed a few issues.

Although the PC recognises the printer as a printer, and also a fax machine, it fails to show up the Scanner component.
Which is odd.
I headed to Dell's site, grabbed the latest drivers, reinstalled, etc.
.. Same thing.
I opened up PaintShop Pro and headed to it's "Import / Twain Source" dialogue, where it usually shows up scanners and cameras and the like.
.. Nothing.

Hmm..
Which is odd, because I also have a Webcam on my laptop.
True, I never use the webcam, but it should still show up.
..
At which point I realised I haven't seen that doing anything since installing Win10, either.

I've tried about 20-odd Chrome Experiments which are supposed to do stuff with your webcam, too, and none of those work. All failing with the same kind of error message.

Has Windows 10 killed the Twain drivers?
No scanner, no webcam, nothing.
No image-importing options are currently working on my laptop, whatsoever.

I spent a good hour or so trying to figure this out, last night, but ultimately gave up trying.
I'll use the Printer's inbuilt scanner function to save to USB and do things that way...

.. Weird though.
