New games every week!

I didn't spend nearly enough time on the Pool game, yesterday, so Emergency Backup Shoebox Game was slapped onto the server late last night.
I'll post about that in a jiffy.

Instead, I spent yesterday playing with Polls.
Recently I found a site with hundreds of games listed, per year, and figured those would make for great daily Polls over at SoCoder.

"Which is the best out of these few games from X year?"
And, as much as it made for a huge selection of polls, they weren't quite right..

For reasons unknown, the "Top 100 games" lists seemed to have a rather alarming number of games that nobody'd heard of.
Over the past couple of weeks, everyone's been frankly baffled by the collection of games showing up in the polls, and yesterday Rockford had frankly had enough!!

So, I took the time to scour the net for "better" selections.
I found lists of "top 100s" for a whole bunch of different computer/gaming systems, and (having scanned each list to make sure I knew at least a few of the games!) proceeded to write a new tool that would allow me to compile those lists into new polls.

It worked really quite well, and I also took the time to extend the tool so that it could gather the lists into easily findable and useable text lists that could exist on the site as their own thing.

As such, SoCoder now hosts a list page for Videogame Top 100s and US Hit Singles.

I'll no doubt be adding UK Hit Singles, as well as Albums, Movies, Books, TV shows and the like, and probably adding all manner of new Text Lists for all kinds of other things.

I've kept the interface as basic and useable as can be. Click, Copy, Paste. The way that any good Text List should be!

I might rejig my compiler to output a slightly nicer forum post format, but essentially everything's working directly as a forum post, so nothing extra was needed.

So..
Yeah, that's what I did yesterday! And it took bloomin' hours!!
