I've decided to scrap one of the elements of this week's Poker Points game.

Don't worry, it's only a visual "nice" thing that I was trying to add.
Along with the scoring, I wanted it to fling the cards in different directions when you end a round. "Winning" cards go up the screen, "None-Counted" cards head off to the left.
Unfortunately, I mangled the scoring code, somewhere along the way, and trying to figure it all out became insanely overly complicated.

Now all the cards fly off to the left, instead, and a huge sigh of relief goes along with 'em.

Nothing is lost by this lack of visual add-on, and the game carries on working just fine!


I made this decision about 12 o'clock, last night, when struggling to figure out which of the cards should be flung, based on about 6 arrays that I'd set up, and it was all getting ridiculously convoluted and confusing.

This morning, I still have to add in functional scoring for Straights/Straight Flush/Royal Flush, which should be simple enough to do. Just check that there's one of each value over a set of five consecutive values.
Dump those into the scoring mechanism, and all should be ready to go.

I'll likely leave it until tonight to post it, though, just to double check that everything's working the way it oughta.

.. Which requires oodles of Stacking the Deck, to be sure!

ugh..

(And then remembering to remove that code before I post it!!)
