A brand new game
for Windows, HTML5, iPhone, Android TV and more,
14th May, 2017
Nearly up to 400 games in the Jayenkai Archive (currently 393!), and boy, am I struggling for game names, lately!?!
Yesterday I quipped about this fact on Twitter, and was more or less bombarded by people telling me there are plenty of "Game Name Generators" online.
The problem with those, however, is that (for the most-part) they tend to be a series of completely random titles that have little or nothing to do with the game you've already finished making.
In general they're better for coming up with entire game ideas, than titles for your game.
With my complain in hand, I knew there was only one thing to do..
As per bloody usual, I'll make my own!
I started work on the website yesterday, and vaguely got it working.
At the moment, the thing's not outputting very good possible titles, but the basics are in there, and hopefully I can wrangle it into coming up with something a little better.
You input a series of game-associated words on the leftmost set of boxes, which in turn finds "thesaurus-based" synonyms in the right hand set of boxes, then you click the "Mix it up" link, and up pop the random possible game titles..
The tool isn't ready for public consumption, just yet, as I'd like to add some kind of "more like a word" rules to the thing, as well as trying to make it look/work a little nicer. But.. it's a start!
I got stuck fiddling with more CSS layout stuff, yesterday!
I moved the pile of buttons from the top-right, into a more logical toolbar of buttons, and have tweaked a couple of admin functions.
Things are starting to feel a bit more functional, but there's still oodles to do.
I haven't yet, for example, got the Showcases/blogs and other elements working, yet.
Yep, loads more work to do!!
Daily Doodle : Taking The Trash
Platdude's lucky that his local council workers bother to take the extra bags of rubbish.
Most councils wouldn't allow that sort of thing.
Hard at work on so many things.
Juggling much more than two.
Trying to keep all the projects alive.
I wonder what else I could do?
If you'd like to stuff my mailbag, (Please do!!) you can do so right here, at http://bit.ly/AGAW_Mail. Send comments, questions, game ideas, thoughts and more, and they'll usually show up on my daily blog, the very next day.
