Yesterday was far too much for me!

-=-=-

Frantically finishing off the week's SmileBASIC game, doing the screenshots, youtube video.
Upload.
Blog post.
Game Archive post.
Done.

.. But NOT done, because I then had to do all of that again for the day's Advent game. Screenshots, video, edit video, upload, blog post, archive.
Done 2 : Electric Boogaloo

...and relax...

... and then pick up the Switch and start going through game, after game, updating all the Like/Download stats on the Full Game List.
Except, boy, was that an extra challenge.

Joycon Saga

Over the past few weeks, my joycon's finally started to suffer from Drift. To be fair, it's an original day-one Joycon, and I think it's survived well enough.
But now it's randomly jumping around, while I'm trying to do things.

Coding is getting harder and harder as is, with me trying to write on one line, and the joycon deciding it's time to leap the text cursor randomly up the screen for no reason..
So a week or two ago I ordered myself a new set of JoyCons. (The Zelda ones were, alarmingly, the only ones in stock on Amazon... Surely THOSE should've sold out before all the rest, right?!!)

Trying to read 250 tiny little numbers on the handheld's screen, whilst copying those numbers into a spreadsheet on the laptop, is hard enough at the best of times, with my old-man eyes getting tired and weary, and constantly switchinging between two very different views.

Now I also have to cope with the Switch sporadically deciding to jump 20 or 30 games up or down the list, because the JoyCon's playing up.
*ugh*

So, I actually gave up. For the first time since starting my weekly updates, the stats on the Full Game List page are now a week old, other than the most recent few games.
Mr Santa stole my Zelda joycons, but he promises to give me them back next week, so I should be ok to update everything, then.

Meanwhile...

The PixelPainter tool now has vague outlines available.
They're not the best, and typically only seek around an individual pixel.. Whether it's the same as an adjacent pixel, either do or don't draw a scribble on the edge.

I could do with expanding the code to work with clusters of pixels, instead, but .. for now it's enough to get a nice new "Cartoon" style in the mix.

A few of the other styles are also enhanced by the new feature, and you can set it to either draw black outlines around things, or toggle it to draw outlines in the same colour. This sounds useless, but it actually helps with the definition of the artwork quite a bit, and results in "cleaner" images.
Your mileage may vary.

The new option is in the Artist panel, under Outline.

Meanwhile, Meanwhile...

I think you forgot to open the door for the game on Dec 19. Thanks again for all the advent games! Happy holidays!

.. Bugger!!
Right, done that.

Sorry. I'm so tired!!!

Incidentally, today's is that one which wasn't very difficult.
It's still not alarmingly difficult, but .. it's much better than it was.
Apologies that it's not any harder.

I need a lie down, now.
