A lot of "definitely not political, honest" threads are sneaking their way onto SoCoder lately, and it's been niggling away at me for a long time that I should do something about it.

Of course, it should really be down to the users of the forum. I'm not the only person on the forum, and it oughta be down to the community to say "Hey, get your political crap off the site.."
So, that's what I tried to tackle yesterday.
Adding a new "Dangerous Threads" section for political and other such garbage to get thrown into, and creating something that I never thought I needed on the site.

Likes and Dislikes

.. But more importantly Dislikes.
The Like buttons exist as-is, but I would hope that anyone clicking that button would also add a comment as to WHY they've liked the thing.
It's a forum, not Facebook.
Speak up.

The Dislike button, however, also adds a little flag for me on the server, so that I can head on over to the Disliked post, and make a decision as to whether or not it's the sort of content that should be on the site.

Together with the new section, I'm hoping that I can have the best of both world, but I'm certainly not going to let the site spiral into a dumpster-fire of garbage threads.

Difficult moderation decisions ahead, methinks..
