New games every week!

Yesterday I once more asked the AI for some suggestions for the game I'm currently working on, and it came up with a couple of crazy thoughts that I never would have considered.

Concepts and suggestions, and the ability to spitball ideas with a mind that isn't my own for a change, has hopefully lead to a slightly different dynamic with a number of the games I'm outputting, this year.
I think, right now, that's probably where the power of AI lies. Not in its ability to generate complete things on its own, but on our ability to translate what it's coming up with, into something more workable.
Though it's been shown that the AI chatbots can at least vaguely understand programming and concepts, it's not quite at the point where you can ask it to make an entire game and it just does it blindly.

.. But that's definitely coming!
With the new Auto-GPT functionality, we're getting to the point where the chatbots can iterate on ideas, and build more complex outputs. With that kind of functionality, I imagine it's only a matter of time before we can say "Make pong, with the paddle being electrified and neon, and the ball that zaps across the screen leaving a glowing trail behind it" and it'll manage it in one easy task.

You're probably wondering how badly AGameAWeek be impacted by this.
And, honestly, I'm wondering that, too!
So far this year, I've been asking for ideas and suggestions, and it's been coming up with some lovely creative concepts. Goodness knows I've been stuck in a bit of a rut the past few years, endlessly repeating the same ideas over and over.
But this year, we've had a jumping karate man, a bunch of hoops to navigate, the geometric shape maze, and more.
These aren't concepts that I never would have done, but they are ideas that the AI has helped create.

In our not-too-distant future where we can simply ask for a full game, I'll likely still be churning out the code. Not out of spite or anything like that, but .. honestly, the reason I do all this is just to keep my mind active.
I enjoy the thrill of the code, and the excitement when a game becomes a game!
I don't think I'll be stopping that, any time soon.

AGameAWeek will still be here.
It just might be a little bit less repetitive!
