A couple more effects have been added to the mix.

Spent most of yesterday coding away at a few more effects for the new edition of VidGen.


The old Snake effect is back, and with the updated spectrum details, it's looking as nifty as ever.
Snake looks incredibly bad if you use Waveform mode, though. I need to look into a way to fix that.

The next two effects are reliant on the BeatMatching engine, which, if I'm honest, isn't exactly perfect right now, and definitely needs extra tweaking.
But, effect wise, they're quite nice.


There's a "spots" effect which has a bunch of spots floating around and becoming larger when the beats hit.


And a "squares" effect which draws a bunch of Post-it note style blocks all over the screen. The boxes will gather in clumps whenever beats hit, or would if the beat matching was up to scratch! It'll look better once I'm done, I'm sure..

On top of this, the feedback section now includes wiggle and wave, to automate the scrolling and rotation parameters a little. Could probably tweak that a bit more.
I think I need to add a more tweakable set of automation parameters, and maybe see if I can find tempos and things, too.. Hmmm..

But it's coming together nicely.
I'm currently partway through figuring out how to get a nice "Doctor Who Time Vortex" style effect, but.. eek!! Not easy beat matching it when the beat matching isn't all that great.

Guess I need to read up on that a bit more, then.
