Yesterday I received an email from KORG, the music'y folks, letting me know of a new contest they have going.
The challenge is to show off the abilities of the new Namco/Bandai created "Kamata" synthesiser.
You can either remix the included "Asteroids" track, or create your own "One Kamata" Choon.
The One Kamata challenge suggested you had to create an entire song using just one single instrument and track. One instrument!? Yikes!!

I, of course, opted to tackle the more challenging "One Kamata" contest, and managed to create the tune above using just one isntrument.

I'm not sure it'll win, but I think I managed to get quite a few neat little tricks into the track.

*fingers crossed*

Developments

I've spent the past couple of days constantly re-attempting a task, to try to get a nice effect working, but no matter what I try, it never quite seems to work out properly.
I'm not 100% sure why it isn't working, but suffice to say, a star is not a circle!
It's already Saturday, and I've spent far too long trying to get this one single bit of maths to work! It's crazy!!
I know I should leave it behind and do something else, but a small part of me has become somewhat obsessed with trying to figure the bloomin' thing out.

I now have about 2 days coding time until Tuesday, and not a whole lot of game to show for it.
I'm thinking I might scrap the "star/circle" thing, and just go in a completely different direction.

Bah, humbug!

Daily Doodle : Testing Colours

Platdude's making a checklist of a bunch of colour combinations.
Hopefully none of the colourful liquids are volatile.
That could be somewhat chaotic.

Misc..

Scrapping a project.
Sometimes it's worth it.
When you can't find a way
for the game to be perfect.
