The first thing that came to mind for the word Swirl was Sega Swirls, the version of "Same Game" that came free on one of the short-lived Dreamcast Magazine's cover disc.
A few hours later, and there it is!
The game's pretty much exactly as you'd expect. Click a cluster, and "pop" it vanishes, leaving behind some pretty scores for you.
Clear the level, and if you earn 5,000 points or more, you'll gain a star!
There's still the occasional glitch with the clustering. It doesn't happen all the time, and it's really infuriating when it does, but I can't seem to fix it.
Apologies if it ruins your game.
[Dave is frantically scraping cheese off the walls with a spatula. Green enters, looking bewildered.]
Green: Did it work?
Dave: (panting) Nope. The Cola Genie didn't show up, so now I have to get rid of all this cheese.
Green: (sarcastically) Who wouldn't love a room full of cheese?
Dave: (defensively) Hey, it seemed like a good idea at the time. Did you know cheese has a melting point similar to the boiling point of cola? It's practically science!
Green: (sighing) Dave, your room looks like it's been attacked by a rabid fondue set.
Dave: (excitedly) Ooh, fondue! That gives me an idea for my next summoning attempt!
Green: (alarmed) No, Dave. Just no.
[Scene Two]
Int. Dave's Room - Afternoon
[The room is half-cleaned. Dave is now using various kitchen utensils to scrape cheese off every surface.]
Dave: (triumphantly) Almost there, Green! Just need to get the cheese out of the plug sockets.
Green: (panicking) The plug sockets? Dave, don't you dare!
Dave: (ignoring Green) Don't worry, I've calculated the exact angle to avoid electrocution. It's all about the cheese-to-electricity ratio.
Green: (deadpan) That sounds perfectly sensible.
Dave: (suddenly) Wait! What if the Cola Genie left a message in the cheese patterns? Quick, we need to photograph everything before we clean it!
Green: (exasperated) Dave, the only message here is 'please seek help'.
[Scene Three]
Int. Dave's Room - Evening
[The room is mostly clean, but Dave and Green are covered in cheese residue.]
Dave: (proudly) There! All clean. Well, except for us. And we've got all this leftover cheese for the next attempt.
Green: (horrified) Next attempt? Dave, no!
Dave: (ignoring Green) I've been thinking about your excellent fondue idea, and have already put an order online for a giant bowl we can use.
Green: (giving up) You know what? I'm going to the pool hall. Wake me when this dairy nightmare is truly over.
[As Green leaves, Dave starts arranging buckets of leftover cheese]
Dave: (to himself) Don't worry, Mr. Cola Genie. Your molton cheesy pond will be ready in no time.
[End Credits]
