Yesterday was fruitful, but not really in an AGameAWeek'y sort of way.

Last month I subscribed to Computer Music magazine, and though it seems a nice enough magazine, with a decent sample selection each month, this month's issue had a rather pitiful collection of sounds on the coverdisk*.
Hisses and Clicks and Tape noise. Oh, the joy.
What amazing things that collection would bring.

Instead, I found myself rummaging through the possible options to get more and more sounds, and stumbled upon the fact that, if I pay for a monthly "All the magazines" subscription, that it also gives me all the OLD magazines, and they each have codes to allow me to download their coverdisk contents from the site.

So, I went ahead and started a mass-subscription (£9.99 p/m, via PocketMags Plus) and was able to grab tons of audio files from the site.
...34 Gigabytes!!?! And that was only from about 5 or 6 issues.

I then spent literally the entire rest of the day going through folder after folder after folder, extracting all of the drumloop samples, and putting them into tempo-based folders.
I now have over 3,000 drumloops, (2.8Gb) in over 50 different speeds, all ready to drop into an ALChoon at a moment's notice.

But, boy, did it take some doing!!

On the plus side, I now also have a nice collection of digital magazines to read. Future Music, RetroGamer, Edge and more, are all available on my iPad, for some late night geekery.
