I think yesterday was just one of those days!! No coding, but I spent a fair amount of time with Ableton.

I spent a few hours trawling the net for AU/VSTi Instruments, and along the way I stumbled upon a fantastic site, where a sole developer/musician is creating loads of great synth plugins that you can make use of in your music.

Full Bucket Music has a whole bunch of free synths and effects, available for both Mac or Windows, and each one can create a whole world of wonderfully synthy joy!



I spent a fair amount of time playing with the Whispair generator, which felt nice and simple enough to understand at a quick glance.

There's three oscillators at the top to generate the "boops", then a mixer on the left to blend them together, Filter and Amplifier with the usual Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release knobs, then some other bits and pieces underneath.
I'm still not 100% (60%?) sure what I'm doing with it, but it's certainly the one that leapt out at me, as far as simplicity goes.

But, yeah, there's TONS of little knobs and dials to play with, especially in some of the newer VSTs, but I'm sure with a bit of practice, I can figure "bits" of them out
