After gathering up all the things I needed to launch my ship into space, I headed off, created a base, visited a space station and then blasted outwards to see what else was in the galaxy.

I've only played the story mode of No Man's Sky once before, when I first got the game on the PS4. During my time playing it on Xbox GamePassCloudUltimateNameThingsBetter, I played it in Creator mode, where you get pretty much unlimited everything. I'd been saving Story mode for when I get a Native version of the game, and since the Switch edition came out before the Mac one, that's the one I'm playing through!!

Annoyingly, the story isn't anywhere near as pseudo-randomised as I thought it was going to be.
The same characters with the same names, and the same "oooh, spooky" number kept showing up everywhere.
Given how generated the rest of the game is, you'd have thought they could've added a little more randomness into the storyline, so as to make it at least vaguely different each time you play through.
It's a little disappointing that it isn't.

Oh well, never mind.
I'll carry on, and play a bit more, but I don't think I'll spend "too much" time in the game, and will instead save up my excitement for when the Mac version appears.
... Though there's been little or no updates about that since it was announced, and that was months ago. Hmmm..

One of the downsides of having played the game to death already, is that I'm already jumping through hoops and making tons of cash, before the "story/tutorial" has had a chance to tell me about how I'm supposed to be doing things.
Hopping into the ship and shooting at things on the floor, for example, gains you tons of resources, as opposed to doing it all by hand.
....

Today will probably be spent playing it a bit more.
.. I do enjoy the aimless wandering.
More coding if I can fit it in
