New games every week!

Hello all!

-=-=-

A new year approaches, and as per usual I'm having a little play around with things.
Last year, I spent a good month or so building our wonderful little Framework, and getting everything working wonderfully.

This year, I have a slight dilemma.

See, right now I'm thinking about 100 different things at once.
On the one hand, I can carry on. The framework is there, the engine is great, the games are coming along nicely, and that's really really great!
But then PlayMyCode.com comes along, and that works nicely, too!
The fact that I can FINALLY get a game playable online is, quite frankly, unbelievable!
And I didn't have to piss about with 100,000s of includes, or making stupid Classes, and Objects, and Layers, and ... GAH!
Click Start, Code, Run.
That's what coding's meant to be, and that's exactly what PlayMyCode is letting me do!

Congrats DD!

PlayMyCode currently doesn't do Sound. that's a pretty big issue for me, right now, so .. although I'll be playing around with it, it won't be taking over, just yet.
but... I AM thinking about it!

.. and then there's the iPhing.
I'm doing a complete restart, there. It's just gotten stupid, to be honest.
The number of daily issues I'm having with it, are getting beyond a joke.
When you hit a point where there's a MASSIVE issue with your sprites on an iPad, and Apple themselves don't even say "Hey, there's a MASSIVE issue with your sprites on an iPad!" then it's probably time to start relying on other people to do the dirty work for me, instead of me desperately trying to preserve that damned battery life.
Screw the battery, make the game.

Not entirely sure what method I'll end up using, but so far it's looking like Cocos2d.

But... I might wimp out even further, and grab a copy of GLBasic.
... but then that means doing the whole "PC dev, Mac test" thing, and I don't think I'm in the mood for that, when the PC's on the fritz!
gah!!

... Keep plodding on, Jay, you'll figure something out!

Roll on 2011!

... oh, and the old logos back. The new one didn't grow on me like I thought it might.
