Our broadband supplier warned us, last week, that the work being carried out yesterday might end up causing our broadband to disconnect for a few hours.
And it did. And then it came back. All was good. -=-=- ...For about an hour. Between about 12 and 1pm, all was golden and the net was working perfectly again. *pop* 1:34 it went off again, and hasn't been on since. "We've finished working on your service." came the text alert at 9pm. I tried, I reset the router, I unplugged and turned it back on, I did all sorts. No joy. In order to get to their website to report the issue, I of course needed to use my Phone. My Phone is NOT set up for internet access. It's set up as emergency-only mobile service, because I'm always in the house and rarely ever use the phone as anything other than a camera. I ended up forking out £35 to the mobile provider for a month's unlimited internet access. If I made it a contact, it'd be much cheaper, but ... Then I'm paying for a contract I'd never make use of. So, with that settled and £35 gone, I managed to get to the broadband provider's website, and reported the issue. "A technician will arrive on Saturday : The cost will be £29." FUXAKE.. Looks like I'm on minimal internet access for the next few days. As much as the phone "works", it's very slow compared to my regular access speed, and gets completely clogged up if I try to do more than one or two things at a time. Loading Instagram, and having it try to instantly stream a bazillion photos and videos causes the phone to lock up and need a reboot. So that's fun.. (You should see how long it took to upload the PlatdudeDesktop.zip update, this morning!!) Still, I got a bunch of the Rollin' Rubber game up and running yesterday, so there's that! Amazing what a lack of internet can do for your productivity. "The computer technician, Derek Man, tries to fix a problem, wires everywhere, chaos" by #DrawThings Views 70, Upvotes 22
