Moving Jay : Day Thirty Nine : Wake Up!! Blog

Being woken up by an alarm clock is bad enough..
Being woken up whilst trying to get over to sleep... Grrr!!

-=-=-

I installed the Public Beta of MacOS and iPadOS onto my devices, yesterday, and all seems more or less as smooth as can be expected. There's a couple of minor quirks, but otherwise it's pretty much a flawless switch up, as is the Apple way.
Good going, Apple!

However..
I tend to use a Siri Shortcut that starts playing my nighttime sleepy playlist, sets my devices to silent mode, and enables a 10 minute timer with "Stop Playing" when it runs out. This gives me a nice 10 minute bit of music to help me drift off to sleep, before it stops playing.
A nice sleep timer.

Last night, it reached the 10 minute mark, and went "HEY, WAKE UP!! BEEP BEEP BEEP1!!!"
I grumpily hit the "STFU" button, and stupidly restarted my Siri Shortcut to get back over to sleep, checking that this time it was definitely set to "Stop Playing", and not "Radar".

Can you guess what happened?
Have a guess..

I'll have to dig through settings today to figure out what I was doing wrong, or whether it was just the Beta doing a silly Beta thing.
I've reported my nighttime grumpiness to Apple, so hopefully they can look into it, too.

Meanwhile...

I've installed the free version of Davinci Resolve. As much as I love Apple Motion's capabilities, there's been a few quirks of late that have started to irritate me.
I'll be giving Resolve a go, and see if I can get lyric videos to work on that any better/easier than I could with Motion.

It sure would be nice if I could hit a button and have it magically output a visualiser effect.
... I miss those. Modern apps seem to make that insanely difficult to achieve!
Bring back VideoTracker, I say!!

Meanwhile, Meanwhile...

Over at Suno-AI there's a new A.I. Singer tool. You type in a few lines of lyrics, and it generates music and vocals, just like magic.

I fed it the male-verse of the recent Xenial Dancing track, and it spat out the following two examples.

Which, I think we can all agree, are spot on
It's quite a powerful little tool, though, and I'm sure a TON of stuff will be generated using that technology in the future.
AL's doomed!!
