Oh no.
Yesterday I let my head have a little breather and a think of what it could do once it's back to coding, and now I have approximately 185,703,057,309,830 projects in my head!!!

The most recent idea is a complete rewrite of SoCoder's Mudchat.
The Mudchat was started way back, around about 2008, and I intended for it to feel a bit like an adventure game, but also be a general purpose chatroom.
It had a basic map, and a vague inventory, but I could never quite work out what exactly it was supposed to be.
One added complication was that you could only chat to the people in the same room as you, so unless you wanted a silent experience, everyone would sit in the main hub, and never go anywhere.

Yesterday over on SoCoder, Spinal asked whatever happened to it, and the honest answer is, with a lack of usage, I opted not to ever rewrite it when I was doing the entire rest of the site.
Is it time to bring it back?!
I've temporarily made a discord, but for various reasons (most importantly being that it doesn't integrate with the site) that's very much a temporary thing.

I'm quite tempted to do it..
A complete rewrite, but with a few ideas learned over the years. I bet I could make a much more functional "game" environment out of it, nowadays.
If I make global-chat the default, too, that'd help. That way you can still wander the map, without losing the chat functionality.
Maybe have a /whisper to make your chat room-only, or something..?

As for the inventory, I'll likely give players keys, and those can open doors in the maze as well as chests with treasures and dangers and more.
Make it an auto-generated map each day with a few keys given to each player, and I bet something interesting could be done with it.

...
Gawd, the number of iOS Notes for new ideas that have been created, this week..
