Had a crazy idea for a game at 4am, this morning, and then tried to get back to sleep for several hours afterwards.

.. At least the cat was happy that I was awake.

It's a scrabble-style word game, but in my head it requires a much more artistic style than Shoebox can cope with.
I wondered if I could get some sort of two-player functionality working via wifi.. Can a browser do that without needing to connect via a server?
I started looking into it, and there's a thing called WebRTC..

"WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) is a technology that enables Web applications and sites to capture and optionally stream audio and/or video media, as well as to exchange arbitrary data between browsers without requiring an intermediary. "

Now, that doesn't exactly sound foolproof, but I wonder if I could make a new 2-Player framework that would let, eg, me and mum play word games on our iPads together in the same room..?

Or, better yet, what if you have an iPad in the middle of the table as the board, and everyone's phones can join in the game..?
That could be fun, right?!

So, I lay awake most of the night wondering about the possibilities, and over-imagining how ultra cool I could make a "High-seas, word-buckling" game look without breaking my entire "style" of game making.

But I guess if we're on a bit of a break, and I've already written a 3D tool, which is FAR beyond my usual realm, so... Maybe this might be the right sort of time to look into trying something new?!

The quote for the Removal firm came back as £850.
Seems a lot. I'm sure other folk have moved far cheaper than that, but they probably just hired a van and got friends and family to help.
In MY situation, I can't help, so hiring a firm to do everything whilst I sit on my arse, is absolutely the better choice, here.

Just need that date, now.
