Moving Jay : Day 127 : A Date?
Blog
25th October 2023
Everything's looking like it's going to be next Tuesday.
Next Tuesday is Halloween.. Spooky Bungalow, incoming! -=-=- 31st October 2023. Mark that date in your calendars. Carve it into your pumpkins. Scrawl it in blood across the front wall of your house. Your old house, though. Not your lovely new bungalow. After the insane craziness of that stupid Freeholder guff, and all the other insurances and other such garbage, it looks like we're finally nearing the end of the road, as far as this insane idea goes. What started as "Let's get rid of that dark bookshelf that looks out of place in my bedroom" turned to a chaotic few weeks of deciding to sell the house, a week of selling the house, and then FOUR MONTHS of waiting for things to be processed. May seems like an age away. .. Because it is! I've been stuck in a weird no-focus mindset ever since, and my AGameAWeek stats are down to practically nothing. Advent's coming up, and at this rate, really don't be expecting anything awesome.. Because I STILL haven't planned anything. Ugh. Today, we're getting a new removal-van quote, because the last company is fully booked over the "holiday" season.. .. .. Apparently Halloween is a busy day for moving!?! We're still waiting on one final *stamp* before we're done. Everybody's signed, but apparently the bungalow solicitor is still on their annual leave until Thursday, so we just need them to put their final little tick in a box, and we're good to go. And they'd better not change the date.. ... This week's plan, then. 1. Get that new quote, and hope the company is trustable and will do a good job. 2. Organise the last few bits and what boxes they'll end up in. I think me and mum will both be packing "on the day" boxes, with the few clothes we've left out, iPads, chargers, etc, so that those can be easily unpacked at the other end. 3. Organise all the things that I can do online. Bills, Council Tax, Post redirection, that sort of thing. 4. Organise all the things that I can't do online because some companies still think it's 1937. And prepare.. Me and Mum really couldn't cope with anything else yesterday, after the insane number of phone calls from solicitors and estate agents, and even the lovely bungalow owner. A day of Scrabble was had... I wonder if there's any nice new fancy Deluxe Scrabble sets that I could buy for the Bungalow...?!
