Game Scrapped
Blog
16th March 2024
I started a game yesterday.
I scrapped it soon-after. -=-=- The Concept One of those Sega-Swirls/"Same Game" types of games, where you click a cluster of 2 or more adjacent tiles to get rid of them. The bigger the lump, the more points. By building up the grid from the bottom up, I could build a grid where it's possible to beat the level with a perfect score. The Issue Once you spot where the bottom-most "blob" is, it became alarmingly simple to just keep clicking the approximate area and beat the level every single time, without fail. Why Not Just..? Sure, a purely random version of this game would work perfectly well, but You can play Same Game in the Shoebox, and that's enough, right!? Game Scrapped Which is a shame, because I think I'd've liked one of those games in a puzzle style. After the disappointment of a game not happening, I then set about making a nice "Digital/Matrix" background that looks nice and greenscreen'y. Not really sure what I'm doing with that, but it sure does look nice in motion! I'm probably going to aim for a space shooter, because that's what it looks like it's supposed to be, but maybe I should try to come up with something else.. I wonder what else I could do with that!?! Hmm..
