Aaah, the long summer days.
Still cloudy and muggy, but it's at least getting lovely and warm outside, and I can sit in my lovely bean bag, chilling with my coding for hours at a time.
Aaaah!

Yesterday was fairly productive, as I got most of the GUI for the lyrics up to a decent standard. Things now look a bit more normal, though I might still switch out the Justify Slider for a normal set of buttons.
Oddly, I don't think the world of Emoji includes the standard "three lines at different offsets" justify icons, and I'm not really sure why. It seems to have literally everything else, from the play/pause icons, through to dice and even a set of mahjong tiles and more.. Quite why it doesn't have "Left/Center/Right" justify, I've no bloomin' idea.
Fingers, fists, arrows, reverse arrows, speech bubbles and more, all come up for "Left" .. But the typical three line thing with all the lines being left justified..
Not in there.

Why not?!
Who makes the decision to add emojis, and why in the world haven't they added justification icons!?!

Seems silly to have to add a GUI.png just for the sake of justify icons, if I'm honest. Though, I guess I could probably also add little tab icons to a GUI.png.
.. Maybe I should make a GUI.png!?

Maybe not "fine", but definitely more functional.

So, anyway, with all that out of the way, it's time to start adding the timings and what-not.
The groundwork is already in there, but now I need to figure out how best to shift them around, erase them, and other such tasks. Right now it's "Tap to add a word", and then add and add and add!
Oh, and a save feature. I definitely need to add a save feature!!

Meanwhile...

Without "The giant ethernet cable", it's been quite an effort to hook things up, network wise, especially for the NAS.
Currently I'm temporarily switching on the secondary router and NAS for about an hour each day, letting backups occur, then switching it all off again. But this isn't connected to the rest of the network, only its own little hub.
I guess I should probably see if I can get a Wifi Repeater to hook up to the main router wirelessly..
.. Or.. you know.. Big 'ol cable!!!
I'd rather not do the big ol' cable, though, and if I'm completely honest, I've gotten used to being able to sleep at night without the NAS going "grr, grunt, nrrrr" as the mechanical hard drives do their thing, and the fan spins endlessly.

I've been looking into SSD alternatives, but .. good lord, they're pricy.
I did buy myself a Sandisk External SSD drive with the promise to myself that, should I find myself using it, I could pick up a couple more of them and move most of my backups onto those.
1Tb is plenty for my own self-created content. Decades of games, music, websites, SQL backups and more, and I'm only just hitting over 120Gb!!! I am fairly good at keeping file sizes down, after all.

But it's all of the other stuff. Backups of apps I've installed over the years, all my scanned photo archives, the mp3/mod/midi collections, the entire Stargate/Red Dwarf DVD collection. ... I do still have the Stargate/Red Dwarf DVD's.. You'll have to pry those out of my cold, dead hands.. But who gets up to dig a DVD out of a box, put it in a drive, then put it back afterwards!?!
Such a 2010 thing to do!!

I'm not really sure what the solution to all this is, without the sound of constant fans taking over the entire bungalow.

The quest continues!!!
