Tapping Is Working! Blog

It's only showing the word "Trigger", but the tapping mechanic is now functional...
.. For me, not in the uploaded version!

Of course, there's still oodles to do. I'm pretty much only about 10% of the way there.
Currently the tapper is collecting taps and storing them in a big array.
Next I need to assign taps to words, but I'd rather that be automagically done, so I'll need to count taps, count words, then connect them together afterwards.
I've also got a "Line" tap button, too, and when that's hit, an entire line of lyrics should pop up, which will make the word counting that much more complicated.

Once that's done, and words are popping up in time, I then need to give each word/line a "Life" value, so they stay onscreen for the right amount of time.

.. Then once THAT's working, I need to add transition options, so that words can fade in and out, blur in and out, slide in and out, or any number of alternatives.

Oh dear.. Why did I start all of this!?

.. Oh yeah, to take my mind off of the giant pile of work I have to do in JSE.

I think my head wants to do a platform game with Double Jump.. Possibly a "get up the tower whilst dodging darts" sort of thing. Maybe with levels and goals and things.
Would that be ok?

That's not a very Derek'y Derek, this morning.
Adding "Lightsaber" or "Beat Saber" to the AI generator will instantly turn him into a macho hero style character. Had to avoid those words, and try to get him looking "right" without them.
