Whispering became a simple text display, but a nice soft fuzzy one with per-letter fading and movement.
The whispers are hushed in the darkness of the void!
Play-wise, you can move the mouse/touch close to the words and they'll scatter away.
That's about it, really, but it is a lovely effect for the words.
Might be nice to implement that sort of scattering into VidGen, too.
Hmmm.
I forgot to mention where I'm getting these daily words from, by the way.
This is the complete list, and there's also a SoCoder Thread dedicated to it.
There's a few interesting words in the calendar that might be rather fun to tackle.
Flicker and Glitch could make for interesting effect experiments, and I can see Spiral becoming some sort of fun little toy to play with.
I do hope I can continue to make these, over the whole month. .. Though I seem to be spending a fair amount of time doing these and not working on that Transpiler once again.
Oops!
[Dave and Greenie are surrounded by flat-pack furniture boxes and scattered pieces]
Dave: (scratching his head) I thought this was supposed to be easy to assemble.
Greenie: (holding up an instruction manual) It says here we need a 14A screw. Do you have one of those?
Dave: (sarcastically) Oh sure, let me just check my extensive collection of precisely labeled screws.
Greenie: (rummaging through a pile of screws) Hang on, there's one round here somewhere.
Dave: (picking up a piece of wood) Are you sure this is how they go together? Something looks wrong.
Greenie: They're supposed to! They only look normal once everything's finished.
[Dave attempts to connect two pieces, but they don't fit]
Dave: Oh, for...
[Scene Two]
Int. Dave's Flat - Afternoon
[The room is now a mess of half-assembled furniture and tools]
Dave: (frustrated) This is worse than trying to set up my Coke-cooled PC.
Greenie: (struggling with a shelf unit) A little help here?
[They place the shelves next to the desk and let go. The unit topples over onto the floor]
Dave: (surprised) It's not done THAT before!
Greenie: Maybe we should take a break and have a Coke?
Dave: (reaching for a can) Good idea. At least I know how to handle these.
[As Dave opens the can, it sprays everywhere, soaking the instruction manual]
Dave: Oh, come on!
[Scene Three]
Int. Dave's Flat - Evening
[The furniture is still in pieces, Dave and Greenie look exhausted]
Greenie: (sighing) Maybe we should have gone to MFI instead.
Dave: (sarcastically) Yeah, because their stuff just magically assembles itself, right?
[There's a knock at the door]
Matt: (from outside) Dave? Greenie? You two alright in there?
Dave: (panicking) Quick, hide the mess!
[They frantically try to shove pieces behind the couch]
Greenie: (whispering) What do we do now?
Dave: (grinning) I've got an idea. Hey Matt, want to help us with a little DIY project?
[As Dave opens the door, a pile of screws spills out into the hallway]
Dave: On second thought, maybe we should stick to comedy.
