Yesterday I finished off and uploaded the updated version of the Crossword Game's AI engine.
-=-=- The AI Engine should now be much more sensible in its choice of words. It'll still occasionally open the big complete word list to pluck from, but for the most part the words oughta be more "normal" words like "ZYGOTES" and "QUARTERLY", rather than being more crazy off-the-wall words like "ZWITTERION" and "QINGHAOSUS", both of which are technically words that you can play in Scrabble, but.. Come on, though!!! So that's been uploaded. I'm not sure it's 100% great yet, though. Feels like I need to maybe give it a bit more time, to make a list of better scoring words or something. Not sure. It's quite a decent player, now, though, and will only pluck out the hardcore words when it can't come up with anything better. Meanwhile...So, with that out of the way, I opted to work on the new "Scrabble in Motion" game. Currently the title is "Word Bridges", but I've not made it resemble a bridge, or anything requiring a bridge, so I'm kinda hunting for a different title for it. It seems like it plays well enough though. It's currently at the "no scoring/logic yet" stage, but the movement is functioning as it oughta. You place a word from your tiles and submit it, at which point the entire board moves down by one, and a fresh space is left at the top of the board. As you play, the premium tiles will show up. If you Swap/Pass, it'll empty your tile rack, and refill it. It'll also punish you, by moving the grid down two places, instead of just one. You get a whole bag of tiles to play with (except blanks) and it's a bit of a challenge to see if you can use all the tiles before you run out of possible moves. I think it works really well, though I might have to change a few rules before I'm done. Look out for the game in the next day or two. \o/yeay\o/ A.I.
