See what happens when you're not having to stress out about builders and decorators and stuff.
You can get a game finished!
-=-=-
Things off the impendingly oversized todo list.
1. I got this week's game finished. It's only a day late. That's ok!
2. I got this week's ALChoon finished. That's on time. Great.
3. I got the lyric video for the ALChoon done. That's early. Awesome.
Today I'll upload the ALChoon, and get a start on a few of those background tasks.
I might upload the recent version of JSE. I made a whole bunch of tweaks during the past few weeks, but haven't uploaded them, mostly because.. realistically.. they don't make "that" much of a difference in terms of usability.
Once that's done, I really need to figure out the best way to transfer the JSE data from being LocalStorage to being IndexedDB. I know the basics, and it's pretty much ready to go, but I really don't want to encounter any sort of Lost Data scenario, so I need to double and triple check everything.
I might also enforce a data download before the transfer happens. That might be the
best way to go about doing this.
Int. Dave's apartment - Afternoon
[Dave is sprawled on the couch, intently watching "Watership Down" on TV while sipping from a can of Coke. Green enters, looking exasperated.]
Dave: [without looking away from the TV] Hey, Greenie! Want a Coke? It's perfect for rabbit-themed research!
Green: Dave, shouldn't you be working on fixing BurrowOffice after yesterday's disaster at the computer fair?
Dave: This is work! I'm studying rabbit behavior for our next big update. Did you know they have a complex social structure?
Green: [sarcastically] Oh yes, because nothing says "office productivity" like warren politics.
Dave: Just be wary of anyone with red eyes.
[Scene Two]
Int. Dave's apartment - Later that afternoon
[Dave is still on the couch, now surrounded by empty Coke cans and scribbled notes about rabbits. Green is pacing nervously.]
Green: Dave, you can't just sit here all day watching cartoons. We need to figure out how to salvage BurrowOffice.
Dave: This is not just a cartoon, Greenie. This is important cultural importance stuff.
Green: I'm sure it is.
Dave: Relax, Greenie. I'm recharging my creative batteries. Besides, this could be like a special edition or something. "Watership Downtime: The Office Edition"!
Green: [exasperated] I think you might have a licensing issue with that.
Dave: I'll have to google the rights holders. Don't suppose you have a copy of the book, do you?
[Scene Three]
Int. Dave's apartment - Evening
[Dave is still on the couch, now holding a carrot. Green is sitting nearby, looking defeated.]
Dave: See, Greenie? A day of research was just what I needed. I feel refreshed and ready to tackle BurrowOffice tomorrow!
Green: [skeptically] And what brilliant ideas have you come up with during your "research"?
Dave: [excitedly] Picture this: BurrowOffice, but with a built-in escape game! If your workload gets too stressful, you can virtually tunnel your way out of the office!
Green: [facepalming] Dave, that's not how office software works. People actually need to do their jobs.
Dave: Maybe sometimes. But not always, Greenie.
Green: But they likely wouldn't have to burrow their way out of work. Just. You know. Ask for time off.
Dave: You can do that?
Green: Yes.
Dave: Hmm. I'd rather dig a tunnel.
[End credits roll with Dave trying to dig a tunnel under his desk using a plastic spoon]
