I started writing a couple of bits and pieces for the game, yesterday.
-=-=-
"Shouldn't you be writing all of it?"
Well, yeah, but no. I mean, a lot of the content is either A.I. generated, or it's grabbed from some really old stuff. So, \o/yeay\o/
But that's not 100% of the game, and in fact, there's a TON of stuff I need to write, myself.
The "Tutorials" are going to require a certain type of humour, and at least one of the "games" is going to need me to write a giant poem about a munky on a train.. perhaps.. Hmm..
I wonder what game that might be!?
So, yeah, there's a lot of writing to do for this game, and I made a bit of a start, yesterday.
The main issue I'm having right now is that I'm still not 100% sure on how to illustrate/animate the tutorials. That's definitely becoming more of an issue, the later in the month it's getting. I really oughta have decided on that, so I can start drawing everything and figure out how to animate it all.
I mean, really, come on, Jay!!!
So, I guess that's what I have to do.
Decide an animation look, and get things functional.
[Dave is standing on a wobbly chair, adjusting a clock while Green watches]
Dave: Right, that's clock number seventeen done.
Green: Why on earth have you even got this many clocks?
Dave: There's nothing wrong with having too many clocks, Greenie.
Green: But they're all mechanical. Can you at least switch them to ones that automatically update?
Dave: No way! These are classics. And it's a fun chore, trying to keep them all in perfect synchronicity.
Green: Automation is a wonderful thing, Dave. You should try it, some time. But.. You know.. Without lasers.
Dave: Wow. That'd be cool. Imagine having little InfraRed lasers shooting all around the room to keep them in sync!
[Scene Two]
Int. Dave's Bunker - Computer Room
[Dave's adjusting more clocks while Green follows with a cup of tea]
Green: This is ridiculous. Even your microwave has three clocks on it. Why does your microwave have three clocks?
Dave: Different time zones!
Green: For what? Defrosting in Dubai?
Dave: Could be useful. And I always cook my noodles on Japan time.
Green: On the hob.
Dave: Yeah.
Green: So. Why the clock on the Microwave?
Dave: So I can see the time if I turn around, obviously.
[Scene Three]
Int. Dave's Bunker - Storage Area
[Dave's reaching for a clock on a high shelf]
Dave: Just need to adjust the cuckoo clock, then the grandfather clock, then the water clock...
Green: You say that, but we all know it isn't water in the water clock.
Dave: No, no, it's definitely water.
Green: It's Coke, Dave. We all know it's Coke.
Dave: How can you tell?
Green: The murkiness kinda gives it away.
[The cuckoo clock suddenly springs to life, but instead of a bird, a tiny cola can pops out]
Green: It's only 8 minutes to, Dave.
Dave: Don't worry. Once the rest of them all start, the symphony will make sense.
