Munky and his Train go a long long way back, and though I'm fairly sure people know not to get on his train any more, he keeps on chuffing along to wherever the tracks will take him.
When I added Munky Train to my list of lessons/games for the typing tutor, I knew it'd require a ton of features.
An animated puffing train would be nice, for one, but also the poetry.
That game thrives on having a nice long poem to type.
"Hey, why not ask the AI" I thought..
So, I grabbed the poems from the two games listed above, and threw them into Claude.AI, before sitting down for a good hour or so, reading and editing the lines of text so they had "just" the right rhythm (to me!) and also made sense within the poem.
Each of the four versions takes the train on a new and exciting adventure. I can very easily see how people might end up creating those A.I. Generated kids books, because, my goodness, right now, this is very much that!
I might add a few more train journeys to Munky's adventures, and see where that takes me.
Animating things might be tricky, though. I'll have to think about that.
Eeek.
Meanwhile...
I've added "a" form of Greenie to the tutorial engine.
I'm not 100% sure if that's the final style, but he certainly does look happy, and his little arms flap up and down as he types!
He's on the bottom right, so if you're playing in a landscape ratio, or a portrait, he should be out of the way enough that he isn't too distracting.
Next I need to start adding him to the tutorials and the like, but in a way that isn't annoyingly obnoxious!

Lyrics : The first chunk of the original Munky Train > Reveal 🔎
[verse]
Type in the text, quick, to slow down the train.
Hitting the buttons is part of this game.
Type in the words as they come on the screen.
Type them in quick, if you know what I mean.
[chorus]
Faster and faster and faster it goes.
If ever you stop, then the train will explode.
Falling through space, to the land down below.
It's easy to fail, and it's hard to go slow.
[verse]
The lion is roaring inside of his cage.
He knows that the train is too fast at this stage.
The bridge may be magic, but trains can go faster.
And over the edge, it will cause a disaster.
[break]
[bridge]
Passengers scream as the train carries on.
The driver gave up. From the train, he has ran.
A Munky is here, but that's really no matter.
The train must be stopped or the Munky will splatter.
[alt-chorus]
Faster the music, and Faster the train.
The Munky is trying to get in your brain.
Slap him away, if you think that you should.
How many carriages filled up with wood?
[Dave is sitting cross-legged among mutated cabbages, eyes closed]
Green: Dave? You alright?
Dave: Shhhh... I'm being one with the cabbages.
Green: Is this about your job again? Because you've lost plenty before.
Dave: No, Greenie. The bunker needs more air. Fresh air.
Green: Aah, right. Because it's a bunker.
Dave: Yeah. How were people supposed to survive in these things during the war?
Green: They probably had oxygen tanks and things in them.
Dave: Oh yeah.
Green: And food rations. .. That weren't just cola.
[Scene Two]
Int. Dave's Bunker - Main Area
[Dave is drawing plans while Green looks concerned]
Dave: See, if I route the ventilation through the cola cooling system...
Green: This isn't going to go well, is it?
Dave: No explosions this time! Just pure, cola-filtered air!
Green: I think "fresh air" should probably be fresh.
Dave: But think about it - carbonated oxygen! It's brilliant!
Green: It's really not.
Dave: We could call it... FizzAir!
Green: Not Colair?
Dave: OMG my god, that's brilliant!!!
[Dave is attaching cola bottles to the newly formed air vents]
Green: Dave, I think this might be a better idea... Without the cola..
Dave: You're crazy, Greenie. Colair is the future!
Green: I'm fairly sure Cola must sell candles. Can you not just leave the fresh air as fresh, and then light a candle?
Dave: In the bunker? Flames? Are you crazy?!
[A concerning bubbling sound starts]
Green: Dave, is the air supposed to be brown?
Dave: That means it's working!
