Time to get working on the waffling waffle that intrudes your enjoyment of the game.
Boooo....
-=-=-
I definitely need to include a skip button, that's for sure
I'm currently planning on Space for "Page", and Enter for "Skip", but I suppose that depends entirely on how the text displays on the screen.
Will it be "BLAM, TEXT!" or will it type onto the screen, with Greenie sat in the corner?
That could probably work out, I reckon.
But how fast/slow do I make it type?
One Space-Tap for "get this page finished", and another Space-Tap to move onto the next screen?
Or does the text scroll continuously?
I have a feeling I'm going to have to play about with this a fair bit, so it's not going "too" fast, though.. At the same time, the faster the player can read, the faster they'll be able to type.
Honestly, I never expected these kinds of complications, back when I considered this to be a marginally decent idea.
... Probably would've been quicker making a ton of normal games over Advent.
Please do remind me that, next year!!!
[Scene One]
Int. Dave's Underground Network - New Tunnel
[Green finds Dave directing the statue bee towards a newly dug section]
Green: Matt's definitely going to evict you when he finds all this
Dave: The mole's doing all the work!
Green: The STATUE mole?
Dave: Yes! Look at his little helmet! The LED actually works!
Green: And why is the porcupine following him?
Dave: Health and Safety officer. The dinner jacket makes it official.
Green: The top-hatted chickens seem concerned.
Dave: They're just worried about their garden party venue.
Green: The one under the revolving gates?
Dave: No, that's tomorrow's venue. Today they're having it in the west wing.
Green: You've built a Wing?
Dave: Four. Otherwise why would it be called the West wing? And now the bees helping, look.
Green: Those are just your hands making them move! They're still statues, Dave.
Dave: Shhhhhh! You'll hurt their feelings!
[Scene Two]
Int. Dave's Underground Network - The West Wing
[The heavenly cat sways precariously above a miniature garden party]
Green: Good grief, Dave, where on earth did you get all this junk?
Dave: I used Duck Duck Go to find everything.
Green: Surprised there aren't more ducks.
Dave: We'll have to wait and see if we get any ducks later on in the month. No spoilers!
[A distant rumbling sound]
Green: What was that?
Dave: Oh, probably just the mole finding more space for tomorrow.
Green: More space?
Dave: "Thirteen, Dancing Queen!"
Green: Please no...
Dave: Don't worry, the flamingo's already got her tutu!
[Scene Three]
Int. Dave's Underground Network - West Wing
[Dave balances precariously on a ladder while Green holds a Cola bottle]
Dave: Just a bit more to the left...
Green: I don't understand what this has to do with a flamingo, Dave.
Dave: Me neither. She seems rather worried about the ceiling, though.
Green: He's a statue!
Dave: She.. And she's statue with a degree in structural engineering!
Green: When did that happen?
Dave: Don't ask me, she came like that.
[The heavenly cat swings wildly]
Green: I'm starting to get worried about the stability of this bunker, David.
Dave: This is why we need the flamingo. She understands balance.
[The bee's string snaps]
Dave: DIVINE EMERGENCY!
Green: It's just a statue, Dave!
Dave: Quick! Everyone into the safety bunker!
Green: We're ALREADY in a bunker!
Dave: The backup bunker!
Green: You have a backup bunker?!
Dave: The bee insisted. Health and safety.
Green: I thought the porcupine was Health and Safety?
Dave: Not officially, it was just a lovely jacket.
