I'm planning ahead. .. Plans never work out, this may be a disaster..
-=-=-
So, here comes 2025, and with it, a brand new exciting year of making the same bloomin games, week in week out.
Hurray, I hear you shout.
I also hear you shouting about the lack of Advent content.... .. I'm shouting that, too.
So, here's the plan for 2025.
Themed months.
That's all.
I know that's not a great big amazing plan, but it's plan enough.
We have Shoebox, Browsercade, JSE and Foldapuz to keep active.
(Don't forget PlayFiveWords..!)
Over the next month, I SWEAR I'm going to integrate JSE into Browsercade. That's on my todo list.
Once that's done, JSE games will start popping up in Browsercade, so we've pretty much killed one requirement.
But each month over 2025 has either 4 or 5 Mondays, so my thinking is that if I can come up with a nice theme, I can generate one of each of those game types to fill out the weeks of the month.
Touchscreen game, Gamepad Game, Daily Puzzle, Paper Puzzle..
There's currently a "places" list on your right.
The things I'd be missing, here, would be a monthly SpikeDsilike theme, so let's add that to my todo list, and also JNKPlat. Not sure what to do about that. I still haven't made a level editor for that version, have I?
Perhaps that's something else I should work on during December. Then I can start to build up monthly level sets or something.
Last on the right-hand list is Arty Tools, and though I don't think I could build entirely new tools each month, it might be nice to be able to add new generators to the VidGen, or add capabilities to the PixelCubes tool... Things like that.
The JNKPlat level packs and VidGen enhancements might not necessarily fit the theme of the month, so I'll probably set those off for a separate weekday.
So, the plan, then, would be...
Mondays : Games (Shoebox, Browsercade, JSE, Foldapuz)
Wednesdays : ALChoon (..!)
Fridays : Extra bits (JNKPlat levels, SpikeDislike themes, Art Tool Tweaks)
All of which should "try" to stick to the theme of the month.
Is that a good enough plan?
If I can keep that up for the whole year, it'll certainly be a better result than the past few months have been.
I'm SO sorry for having pretty much wasted the entirety of October and November, and as a result December, on what was ultimately a disastrous non-existent Typing Tutorium.
What a shame that was.
Never again!
Just the games from here on out!!!
Games > Nothing!!!

Monday a Game, Wednesday Music
Friday a Tool or a Level or a Tweak.
That's my plan for the year ahead.
A much more active A Game A Week.
(yeah)

Shoebox, Browsercade, JSE, Foldapuz
Platdude, Spikes and Art Tools, too.
Weekly updates, lots of coding,
These are all the things I do.

Monday a Game, Wednesday Music
Friday a Tool or a Level or a Tweak.
That's my plan for the year ahead.
A much more active A Game A Week.

Work each month towards a certain theme,
To keep my mind more active. (yay)
Stop the boredom setting in,
As I keep on making all the things that I do.

Monday a Game, Wednesday Music
Friday a Tool or a Level or a Tweak.
That's my plan for the year ahead.
A much more active A Game A Week.

Cable Conundrum
[Dave's living room. Cables are strewn everywhere, Dave is sitting cross-legged in front of his TV cabinet, with a myriad of computers, consoles, DVD players and more]
Dave: Right, so the red ones go to... the red holes?
[Dave examines a cable]
Dave: Unless they're actually orange. Are these orange? Hey, Mr Phone, are these Orange?
Phone: Here's what I found on the web for "Please arrange"
Dave: Dangit, I should've labelled these like my garden tools.
[Dave attempts to connect his DVD player]
Dave: If I put this one here... and this one there...
[The TV makes an alarming buzzing sound]
Dave: Oooh, no, that's not right. That's definitely not right. That's the sound it made when Green connected it last time.
[The phone rings. It's Greenie. Dave puts it on speaker]
Dave: Hey, Greenie.
Green: [through phone] How's it going?
Dave: Great. I'm currently reconnecting everything in the living room.
Green: Everything?
Dave: Yeah. I've got seventeen cables and only six holes in my telly.
Green: That's because you're trying to connect everything at once. Just do one thing at a time.
Dave: But what if I need to watch DVDs while playing games while recording TV while streaming?
Green: When would you ever need to do that?
Dave: Tuesday?
[Dave crawls behind the TV cabinet]
Dave: OW!
Green: What happened?
Dave: The TV cabinet bit me!
Green: TV cabinets don't bite, Dave.
Dave: This one does. It's got teeth and everything.
Green: It has teeth?
Dave: Yeah, on the side. Little teeth prodding out.
Green: Those are probably covered up screw holes or something.
Dave: Then why are they growling?
[Dave emerges with a handful of tangled cables]
Dave: I found more wires! They were hiding!
Green: They weren't hiding, Dave.
Dave: Yes they were! They'd scurried away inside the inside of the TV cabinet.
Green: Inside the inside?
Dave: Yeah. You know the bit around the back that goes inside? Well, then they go around the inside bit inside it.
Green: I.. No, Dave. I don't know.
Dave: It's ok, I think I dug them all out, now. Oooh, purple!
[Dave starts attempting to label the cables with stickers]
Dave: If I put a blue sticker on the yellow cable that goes into the red socket...
Green: That makes no sense at all.
Dave: Makes perfect sense! It's like my shelving system!
Green: The ones that collapsed?
Dave: Yeah, those ones.
Green: Can you not recognise the issue here?
Dave: They're wires, Greenie. Wires only ever collapse together, into giant knotted tangled messes. They don't fall. They don't break. They just amass.
[Dave finally gets something connected]
Dave: YES! A Picture!
Green: What are you seeing?
Dave: [staring at TV] Um... I think it's my kitchen?
Green: How?
Dave: I might have connected the security camera instead of the Dreamcast.
