I've got about 6 days to write an entire Tower Defence game..
-=-=-
1. Enemies
2. Control scheme
3. Paths
4. Towers/Stacks of weapons
Should be easy enough to get those elements working together, right?
As well as this game, March has another bloomin' Monday, (Greedy March) so I have to come up with something that can fill the additional slot of the month.
I should probably do one of those "Balance things in a precarious physics based tower" games, but A ) Gosh I haven't done proper Physics for a long while, and B ) How do you fit a giant tower on the screen whilst making things large enough for physics building?
How did they fit it onto the DS in Clubhouse games?
I dunno.
No point getting wrapped in that, just yet, though. I've a Tower Defence game to make.
[verse]
Time to code another game.
10 Print "Hello, what is your name?"
Something fun for you to play.
20 Input to Name_Array[]
Build an engine, Make it fun.
30 Repeat Until Has_Won
Another weekly treat for you.
40 DrawImage X,Y,You
[chorus]
Basic code for basic games,
There's nothing that I cannot write,
Except Three-Dee, I can't do that.
My Two-Dee art is just for sprites.
For all the rest, I'll try my best,
I'll build up games, most every day.
And every week release them all,
So you've got tons of games that you can play.
[break]
[verse]
Let's carry on and make the game.
50 Rem, This one won't be lame.
Controls to target where you steer.
60 Gamepad code goes in here.
We'll try to add some action things
70 Sprinkle Sparkly Springs
And extra lives to help you win.
80 Print "Next Level Begins"
[chorus]
Basic code for basic games,
There's nothing that I cannot write,
Except Three-Dee, I can't do that.
My Two-Dee art is just for sprites.
For all the rest, I'll try my best,
I'll build up games, most every day.
And every week release them all,
So you've got tons of games that you can play.
Int. Dave's Kitchen
[Dave and Green are standing amongst a myriad of different sized bowls]
Dave: Maybe if I add food colouring...
Green: Please don't.
Dave: But then it could match the paint from your apartment!
Green: That colour is meant for walls, not food!
Dave: Seven parts blue spongecake to two part sausage...
Green: That's not how recipes work.
Dave: [over-excited] I could make a spreadsheet!
Green: For what? Failed food experiments?
Dave: "Day 1: Sausage cake. Day 2: Black pudding Victoria sponge..."
Green: Stop. Please just stop.
Dave: Maybe I need a bigger kitchen.
Green: You wouldn't need a bigger kitchen if you just stuck to writing reviews for games. Or writing games. Or writing any code. Why are you even baking?
Dave: Because we need something fun to sell in the shop.
Green: What shop? There is no shop? We decided you weren't buying a shop.
Dave: ...a shop with a test kitchen!
Green: You're not combining a bakery with a game shop.
Dave: Why not? Every other game shop has closed, in town, but the bakeries remain. We already talked this through. The only way to keep a shop open is to offer Sausage Rolls.
Green: Then why are you not just making sausage rolls?
Dave: Because I'm not Gregg am I? I'm Dave. Dave needs Sausage Selections. Variety.
Green: I don't even...
Dave: It's ok. If we add fangs to the Sausage Muffins, we can offer them with copies of Count Duckula. I've totally figured this all out. Nothing can possibly fail!
