Spent another Tuesday fiddling with the ways of SoCoder again. Is that a "thing" now?

Over at SyntaxBomb.com... Oh.. SyntaxBomb's gone.


For years, I've considered SyntaxBomb to be a good companion for SoCoder. SyntaxBomb, SoCoder and DevCrunch, which died on its arse a long time ago, were the trilogy of sites that people moved to once CodersWorkshop got destroyed by a rampaging Idigidragon. The forum was unplugged by the owners when the head-dev was off on holiday, without forewarning any of the forum users.

The three replacement sites helped to more or less keep the community somewhat close, and once DevCrunch vanished, it was just the two of us remaining.

This past couple of days have been troublesome for Qube vs his SyntaxBomb community, and he opted to step away and close things up.

Over the past 48 hours, a few SyntaxBomb community members have signed up to SoCoder, and they're using it as a way to organise what happens next.
As much as I'd love to say "Hey, stay here, hang out!!", I also recognise the importance of having more than one community forum. Because, if one goes, and you've no spares, you're all buggered!

Hopefully they can all band together and figure out a plan for what to do next.

So..
What did I do..?
Well, DNA (a long-time member) was asking where the Code Archive was. .. It's where it's always been.
I clicked on through to the Code Archive, though, and .. eeeuuuw..
I'm sure it looked neat when I coded it, but it looks bloomin awful, now.

So I fixed it up a bit.
The main sections of the forum, the areas of the "Things", and other such places are less "GIANT TITLE + mess of waffle", and now seems to be much more readable. Or at least, to me it does.

I also spent a bit of time updating a couple of minor things in the database, like how the "Nintendo Gaming" forum description mentions "NX", because it's so bloomin' old, the NX was the next upcoming console, the last time I was working on that particular part of the site!!



And.. .. renamed the "Flash Games" forum section to "Browser Games"..
... Good grief!

So, yeah, that's what I was doing for most of yesterday. The "little tweaks", as per usual, seemed to take forever to do, but it seemed to come together well enough.
I don't think I broke anything. .. Or at least, the bits I did break weren't broken very long
