The bananas seemed nice and yellow and ripe when Mum bought them at Tesco, around 1pm yesterday. (I couldn't manage the trip. This heatwave has been killer for my stability)
By about 6pm, the last couple of bananas looked like this.
They didn't last long at all. Whether that's due to the heatwave, or just the way that Tesco Fruit+Veg doesn't ever seem to last, I'm not sure.
But..
Yeah..No Banana..
There's no game, today. I have half a game written, but there's no playability yet, and this heatwave's melted my brain.
Today's mean to be a bit cooler, with some much needed rain later tonight, so hopefully I can think straight.
It's really not been great, this week.
Health-wise, I've struggled a ton. The heat is making brain fluid go super viscous, and that means even turning my head slowly can still swirl and twirl in chaotic ways.
I managed to get a good sleep on Saturday night, but I had a few "rolling over, fluid rolls with me, scary flow, arrgh" moments during the night. It was far too hot.
But I'm ok. I'm coping. And Mum's watching me like a hawk, just in case.
As I walk around the house (bungalow!) I'm stumbling about, and feeling awfully nauseous from all the swirling.
Glad it's a bungalow! This is one of the reasons we wanted to move to a single-floor, no stairs, bungalow. I'm ever so thankful that we're here.
[verse]
Look at the Tiger.
Look at it run.
Catching an antelope,
Having some fun.
Leaping through the water,
Eating a turtle,
Watch for the crocodile,
Go, little Tiger, Go.
[chorus]
Run, run little tiger, run
Run, run to your family, run
Run, run little tiger, run
Run, catching your food for tonight.
[break]
(run, run, run, run, run)
Catching your food for tonight.
(run, run, run, run, run)
[verse]
Sneaking through grass,
It is stripy and low,
Watching the monkey,
Whose tail swings low.
Pounce like a butterfly,
Sting like a bee,
You'll have a big feast,
Eating wonderfully.
[chorus]
Run, run little tiger, run
Run, run to your family, run
Run, run little tiger, run
Run, catching your food for tonight.
[break]
(run, run, run, run, run)
Catching your food for tonight.
(run, run, run, run, run)
[bridge]
At night when you're asleep the other animals will sneak around,
(They're scared to wake you up [beat] in case you're angry)
In the morning, bright and early, up you jump, and hunt for food.
The turtle tries to hide away from you because you are quite rude.
(uh oh, no, no. Trying to eat the turtle)
(the shell is kinda hard though)
[Dave and Brian are huddled around the dismantled Mini Fridge, tools scattered everywhere. A faint blue glow still emanates from various components.]
Dave: If I just reconnect this wire here...
Brian: Are you absolutely sure about that?
Dave: Of course! Just like fixing a TV.
Brian: And when was the last time you fixed a TV?
Dave: [thinks] 1996?
[Fizzing sound intensifies]
Brian: I'm not sure it should be fizzing like that.
Dave: It's fine. Probably just the quantum cooling system.
Brian: You don't know what you're doing, do you?
Dave: Do you?
Brian: Well. No. But one of us probably should.
Dave: Maybe it's in the instructions?
[Green enters, carrying a box of ScrunchCakes]
Green: Still blue?
Dave: I'm improving it!
Brian: He's "fixing" it.
Green: Neither of you are fixing it, are you?
Dave: I did just suggest looking at the instructions.
Brian: He did just suggest that.
Dave: Yeah!
Green: And, are either of you doing that?
Dave: Brian is.
Brian: He is?
[Dave passes the instructions to Brian]
Brian: I am!
Green: Well at least it can't get any worse.
Dave: [gasps] Don't say that, Greenie. Don't ever say that.
Brian: Oh, here we go. It says "to alter the intensity, use the toggle"
Dave: There's a toggle?
Green: The button's been there, the whole time?
Brian: It's behind the thermostat, apparently.
Dave: Oh, yeah, There's a little toggle. I did wonder what that was for.
Green: Finally! An escape from the blue!!
[A bright flash fills the room]
