Preparing for August is chaotic!

Spent most of yesterday figuring out a methodology for the end card section of the YouTube videos.
I realised the major bottleneck was the text. Apple Motion is apparently rubbish at rendering all the text, and the export chugs at a ludicrously slow speed.
(M2 processor, all that power, but.. no.. rendering an Amstrad CPC font is apparently far too difficult for it!)

Instead, then, I've pre-rendered the text onto buffers, and have (this time!!) saved those buffers as layered images, so I can easily update them when needed.

I've also added a waving background made from gameplay footage into the background of the End Card section.

Now I just need to make a new little ditty to play over the top of it.
I've enjoyed "Making all the Games" for the past 7 months, but it's time for a different tune.

I'll probably finish that off today, and then it's ready for the next YouTube'y upload.
Which brings up to August.

(I've let the Discord slip a bit in recent weeks, haven't I. I noticed today that I hadn't posted a single one of July's games there. Dangit..)

Meanwhile...

I think I've reached the next boss in Donkey Kong Bananza, and ...
I'm actively avoiding going any further!
I'm now running back through previous levels whilst I still can, before I inevitably get locked into a battle that I just can't manage to finish due to motion sickness.
So far I've collected 195 Bananas, which is the game's version of Odyssey's Moons.

Am I ever going to dare face the boss?
Likely.
But for now I'm just having fun in the world of the game, and that's all you can ever ask for, right?!
.. Maybe?!

Meanwhile, Meanwhile...

Michael Fernie asked once more about the possibility of a Picross.
The last time I thought about one, I considered that "I could really do with drawing a bunch of recognisable but possible-to-complete icons that would work in a game like that.. Leave it with me.."
...
And then promptly forgot about it.

(Though, this is why Painting With Platdude exists.. As a way of reusing those, but without the requirement of logic!)

So, today I'm thinking I might try to make a tool for doing that.
Something where I can plot dots, maybe black and white, maybe with a few colours, and have a program recognise if the image is completable.. Then I can click the Save button and it'll store it in a big text file somewhere.

That would work out ok, right?
Maybe..
Then either add it to Shoebox or even PlayFiveWords. .. Though, it might be a bit of a squeeze if I try to add it to PlayFiveWords.
