I think I'll either be limiting myself to 100 sprites/60fps, or 200 sprites/30fps, for iPhing games.
...
That's quite a lot, though!

A slight issue with GLBasic that I can't, for the life of me, figure out.
This is the game without any smoothing on the sprite resizing..
And this is it WITH sprite resizing..
.. D'you see the difference in the text.
It might be neatly scaled, but why the hell is it all yellow?!
What's up with THAT!?
*shrugs*
Anyhoo, those are running on my iPod Retina, and here it is on a PC... same two examples!
Not smooth...
Smooth!
I'm currently considering having about 3 different versions of all my sprites.
The older iPhings (320x480 screen) look REALLY naff in None-smooth (half sprites, missing chunks), and even yellowier when smoothed.
So, the method I'm considering is to take a leaf out of Apple's book, and have x320,x640,x1280 versions of each piece of art.. Then the loader can grab whichever's closest, and ... it'll still be quirky, but it'll be a boatload better.
.. I think!
More soon.
