I've been very very sleepy today, so I had a nap!

Of course, that's not all I've done, but Jay taking a nap isn't a frequent occurrence. It has been this past couple of weeks, but I'm starting to get back to the old routine, so hopefully AL should be popping up again fairly soon.
It's been a while, AL.

Meanwhile, I spent this morning making an odd puzzle/memory thing.
I kinda felt like it might be fun to play, but having actually done it. .. meh. It's not really that great.
On reflection, Cardagain is a MUCH better puzzle game.
Cardagain kicks arse!!

Still, there's another game, all done and dusted, and added to the Archive.
AGameADay is at least suggesting which games I definitely SHOULDN'T be doing again

After dinner, and my unscheduled naptime, I settled down to do some iDev.
I spent a good hour shouting at Unicode and other string-but-not-string based oddities, then got my Accomplishments working nicely.
These are now, too, bundled into the default framework, so will be reusable, and I'll shortly be putting a Badge collection into Daisy Chains.

The GameCenter workings for DaisyChains will be a lot like the SpikeDislike ones..
That is, it'll be a simple "Here's the Top 10, head to the App if you want more" affair.
I'd love to do more than that, but it's SO SLOW!!!
As a simple example..

If I ask for the Top 10, I get the Top 10, and each score has a Score, a Rank, and a Player ID.
If I want to display the player names, I need to ask (using your phone's data transfer) one by one, what the name of the player is.
If I want more scores, again, I need more requests, more player names, yada yada.

If you've ever wondered why the GameCenter App takes sodding ages to fill up, it's that..
That's the damn reason right there!

If I were to have made GameCenter, I wouldn't send you a Player ID, then make you RE ASK for the damn name.. .. I'd send the sodding name in the first place. It's quicker, and you already have a smegging space for it...

'tis stupid, in my opinion.

But hey, I'm oldskool, and I still complain about my data transfer costs.. Apple guys have money coming out of their arses, and don't care about us little folk!

The GameCenter App is there for more.
Everything works, that's enough!
