Y5:W11 - Arcade Slots (AGAW Edition)
Blog
12th March 2013
As we continue our trip down memory lane, I'm starting to head off into odd new directions.
This week, I'm remaking a game that I made for DS, but never got around to doing a proper fully fledged Windows edition of. Obviously, though, a game full of Sprite-Rips isn't going to cut it in Apple's AppStore. .. Actually, given how fucking often those things somehow manage to get approved, I probably could, but let's not chance it! Instead of ripping old sprites from Arcade Classics, I've ripped sprites from my older games. See if you can find them all! (Note : One of them does not exist within the archive, nor has it ever been posted online!!) -=-=- The gameplay couldn't be simpler. This is a proper old fashioned slot machine. Push the button, the reels go round and round, then you see what you've won. -=-=- Before anyone asks.. NO.. You cannot inexplicably prod at the reels to stop them moving.. That's a fucking stupid "Game" mechanic.. I hate it. It's ruined the spirit of slot machines. piss off!!! -=-=- The original DS edition required you to score points to unlock further games (much like SpikeDislike2 does), but since I've only added 5 games, I didn't think it was worth the hassle. Maybe future editions might feature unlocking, who knows.. The top two games are "RAW SLOTS", with no extras. Spin, Win, Fin. Each of the lower three games, however, feature extra buttons that do different things. I'll let you figure them out as you go. Either way, these are still slot machines, and they're all based on random chance. "Skill" players should probably shy away from this one. It's all luck based. You can Download Arcade Slots (AGAW Edition) here for Windows, Android, or play in your browser. -=-=- I plan to expand on this, but I'm currently focusing a lot of time and effort on adding stuff to SpikeDislike2, as well as building new features into my Framework. (Yikes!!) In the meantime, if you have any nice little silly slot machine ideas that may/may not be based on old AGameAWeek Games, post 'em in the comments, and we'll see what makes it in!
