BlastTrax Reviews
Blog
26th August 2013
Rather than have a bunch of different posts all over the place, as usually seems to be the case here, I thought I'd create a game-specific page and dump all the reviews onto it.
BlastTrax seems to be gaining a teensy bit of attention, although exactly how much of that is due to one particular reviewer bombarding me with his over-excitement, thus making it feel like there's a bunch of excitement when in fact it's only his own excitement, remains to be seen BlastTrax was released on August 27th, 2013, and was the 300th game added to the Jayenkai Archive! Ooooh! The game is available from the following places. 1. If you've an iOS Device (iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, with iOS6 or above) you can grab it from the iOS AppStore 2. If you've an Android Device you can grab it from GooglePlay 3. If you're running Windows, or have a half-decent browser, you'll find the Windows and HTML5 editions in the Jayenkai Archive. If you spot a Review, a "Lets Play" or even just a random mention of BlastTrax anywhere, be sure to let me know so I can add it to the list. Thanks! -=-=- ReviewsSentral Gamer.com gives it a whopping 90% "Fantastic!" score! "you need to experience the smooth one-touch control system, fun, challenging and addictive experience for yourself and let me tell you, it???s even better than it looks!" AppAdvice.com suggests that it's the 2nd best App of the day! "Limber up your best thumb because this retro-themed action-arcade game is going to hit you with plenty of old school-style entertainment." AppAdvice.com then posted a proper review, as well! (Blimey!) "I wish that the game went with a more traditional dual-stick shooter route, having separate controls for movement and attacking." Fr-Android.com have a lovely review, in French! "Tout dans ce jeu semble honn??tement sorti du cerveau d???un drogu?? plus qu???autre chose, " AppGefahren.de says.... "Sp??ter sollte man das ganze doch etwas langsamer angehen und gezielter schie??en, damit man das Level ??berstehen kann." (Quote chosen for usage of the words "damit man"!!) CakelessRoses posted a review! "However I don't like the difficulty balance easy is too easy, normal is moderately easy, and hard seems way too extreme." 148Apps.com says ... "Seriously, the minimal sparseness of the graphics combined with the visual effects at high levels makes the game a visual treat ??? something that isn???t really said about the programmer art in Jayenkai???s games!" AppGamers.de wrote a short piece.. "F??r 0,89 Euro erlebt Ihr hier Retro-Spa?? pur." TouchArcade.com found the game boring and repetitive.. "As a result of all of this, the game really doesn't hold up well under long play sessions. It's really ideally enjoyed in short bursts here and there." IndieGame Enthusiast suggest that.. "For 0.99, you get a fun SHMUP with a great visual style and more content - such as an even crazier arcade mode - is on the way." IndieGames.com wrote a brief article, too! "There are very few people who can successfully pull off the Minter-esque look, and apparently indie developer Jayenkai is one of them." -=-=- The game is available from the following places. 1.
