Y7 - D134 : ..Silence..
14th May, 2015
Yesterday, I had a day off...
I was a lazy bugger, and did absolutely nothing of interest, whatsoever.
A lazy day, lying on the couch, playing Words With Friends and complaining on Twitter about how there's no Countdown on TV because of the horses.
I'm getting old, and set in my ways, and if there's no Countdown on, I get grumpy!
(For those who don't know about the fantastic gameshow, here's the Wiki page.)
So, yeah, mostly lazy. Hopefully I'll get something more substantial done, today. If not.. erm.. *shrugs* Tomorrow's blog will be just as uneventful!
Daily Doodle : Fencing
Platdude and his teacher decide to get in a few rounds, before the annual tournament.
Platdude's getting good, but his teacher is leagues ahead of him.
Luckily, Platdude isn't up against his teacher during the tournament. *phew*
MailbagToday's mail comes from an anonymous poster, who appears to be writing in an identical style to the last few posts that "Mr Moon Face" wrote in..
Platdude is an evolution of the Ascii-Stickman that was part of the Amstrad CPC's default character set. Chr$(249) to be exact.
He originally used the three main colours that a freshly reset Amstrad CPC would've used, but the bright blue legs and dark red top looked a little odd, so he was re-dressed in orange and cyan instead.
He got a small amount of rejigging, for gameplay's sake, and then pretty much stayed like that for the rest of time.
Platdude was first named as Platdude when I made JNKPlat2 in college, circa early 1998, so he's officially now about 17/18 years old, although I never did note down the exact date, so I'm not entirely certain when his birthday is.
My best guess is April 16th, but that's just a random date off the top of my head!
If you'd like to stuff my mailbag, you can do so right here, at http://bit.ly/AGAW_Mail. Send comments, questions, game ideas, thoughts and more, and they'll probably turn up here, eventually.
