First test print that's at least vaguely decent.

The technique still needs some tweaking, as the bed's a little too high and is causing the print to come out a little squished. You can tell from the pic that the lower half is slightly compressed, where the printer's been trying to print too low.
But otherwise it's turned out nicely, and I'm fairly confident that (after a whole bloomin' week of trying!) I can finally get something decent out of the thing.
Next will be retraining myself in the techniques of Acrylic Model Painting, which shouldn't be too hard. I used to paint my HeroQuest figures, as a kid. It's a long lost skill, but one that shouldn't be too hard to get back into.

Meanwhile

Had a lovely birthday, yesterday. Nice gifts, family showed up, I ate soup, and me and Mum even made a cake. (or rather, Mum made a cake, and I tried to help, but struggled.)

Today will be back to coding. I've now only really got a couple of days to finish off quite a few elements of the game, so hopefully I can get the larger bits done today, then spend tomorrow tweaking all the quirky issues.
