Hmm.. I seem to be remaking things, a lot, lately.. Either the Doc's sucked out all of my imagination, or I'm enjoying this Monkey language a bit too much!! Aw, who cares, it's another classic AGameAWeek game, remade for Browsers and Android!! <...

You're probably wondering, by now, with all this wonderful "Monkey" stuff that I've been banging on about for the past month, where the heck my iOS offerings are. Well, while it's true that Monkey does indeed make the coding a heck of a lot easier, there's still another matter to attend to. The dreaded "iTunes Connect" area! ARGH!!!! You've probably read enough of my rants to know that iDev isn't easy. There are licenses to deal with. "Provision" codes, Certificates, all manner of stupid fiddly thing...

Is your PC running Windows? Do you like Card games?! Then you're in luck! Cardagain for Windows - Test : 10Mb!! If it nags for an OpenAL dll, you can grab that here. I'm going to fiddle with the zip later, and see what OpenAL stuff I am or aren't allowed to include. Let me know if it does/doesn't run. Thanks!

I've been delaying a large list of things, but as I continue to make great strides with Monkey, those tough bits are getting ever so close. Here's what needs doing, as well as explanations as to why they're tough.. (Note : Very waffley, and probably not all that interesting!)

So, my new iPod Touch Retina Wide/Long has finally turned up, and I instantly realized something I previously hadn't thought about. My lovely JNKPlat Homescreen no longer fits the longer/wider resolution on the new device. Bugger!! Armed with only a Laptop and Paintshop Pro 7, I set about remaking the lovely picture, to fit the new resolution. If you're a crazy JNKPlat super-fan, you can grab both the old-Retina and the new-Retina-Wide editions right here. Enjoy, or ignore, either/or! (URL "https...

As the Mario game flies over the head of the internet, Jay takes note. 2 days after posting to TIGsource, the first comment went online last night. "I'm an art guy, so when I see Goombas with holes in their heads instead of shadows, or tiles that have sharp ends, I'm not inclined to give something a try. Maybe someone else will, but my art instinct is telling me to wait for something that recognizes its visuals Have you had any luck with this elsewhere? The genre doesn't immediately grab me, but a g...

Not sure why, but I'm finding it difficult to get a start on things, this morning. Yesterday I managed to get a whole lot of stuff done, ranging from webby fixes, through to making a unicycle. Today, I'm loading up bits of source, staring at it, closing it, trying something else.. I've been doing this for about 49 minutes, according to my playlist's timer! I think I'll grab the 3DS and carry on attempting random Mario levels. Hopefully that'll go a little better. Coming Tuesday : A game with a u...

Before starting development on NeonPlat Adventures, I took great care to test all the alternatives. I'd read online about OSX Lion breaking Blitz, and people needing to fuck about with lots of settings and things. The scary part was that developing on Lion would probably break compatibility with Snow Leopard. As such, I made a few test engines, and got people with Lion to test my games, to be 100% sure that, if I stuck with Snow Leopard, my games would be 100% compatible with BOTH sets of users. ...

When I was building the beta versions of NeonPlat Adventures, it always included a little readme file. The final release didn't have one, but I figured that was ok, because it was so simple it didn't really need one. The original readme was only really there to explain that beta peeps shouldn't mention the Calendar, and then I kinda rambled on a bit! Anyhoo, if you find yourself in desperate need of a readme file, this is it!

One of the hardest things about adding baddies to this game is, surprisingly for me, not actually drawing things! With NeonPlat I've created a weird skewed world, where nothing looks exactly as it should. This gives me a little artistic license with my artwork. .. or rather, I can be shit, and nobody'll notice! If something looks a little too odd, I simply make it look odder in the animation, and it somehow cobbles together nicely. Want an example? The Bats don't flap, they kinda invert-...

February. The iOS edition of SpikeDislike was kicking arse, the WiLMa edition was doing well, and the PlayMyCode edition was being played quite a bit, too. What else could SpikeDislike be ported to?!

Totally drained, today. Just about managed to post a few random DaisyChain based posts/emails, and that's about it. Out of all of 'em, I'm hoping the TIGSource one prods interest a little, but.. .. I dunno.. Almost a day later, only 25 views, and 0 replies.. .. It's not looking good. *Jay grabs the defibs and cranks up the charge*

(Apologies, it's a bit "half-asleep/randomly ranty/jumping through topics/freeflow" today!!) As an iDev guy, I get 50 codes per Update for all my games. I can hand these out to reviewers or folk I know. Handy. So, off they go, sent out, willy nilly, to all the reviewers/people I can find, and see where it takes me.

A couple of weeks ago, I set Sheep Goes Left as free for a nice big long happy weekend stroll. During this time, the reviewers (or is there just Stu doing it?!) at Free App Hero decided to write a nice big review of the little fella. Look inside for the complete review, then grab the Free App Hero app, to find more fantastic free apps.

I woke up bright and early, planning to get a whole load done on my DaisyChains game, today. I started the day by installing iOS5 v3. This was a bad idea. It took me about 2 hours to get everything installed, reinstall XCode, get the new iOS5v3 iPod and Xcode working together, and then wait for all the apps to pop back onto the iPod. *grr*

A simple little maze game. Guide "Generic 8-bit chr #3" to grab all the little gems. You can't step on two same-coloured tiles one after the other, and try not to crumble the floors or that'll kill you, too..

I've always found Flash slightly more complicated than it needs to be. For a few years I attempted to learn various versions of the official Flash demoes, and SoThink's 900% cheaper clone. They were ok, but they weren't designed for coders. Flash was an artist's tool, with tweening and vector graphics and all that other none-codery stuff.
