Prepare for disappointment!
This week's been a bit of a disaster, really.
I started with Arcade Slots, and actually managed to get quite far into it, but eventually realised there wasn't anything new to add to the mix. So that got scrapped.
After that came a brand new Blockman graphic style, which was far too angled, and resulted in the maze being completely obscured. No good!
So, after those two, you'd think I'd suddenly come up gold. Third time lucky, right?
Nope.

Name : Thunderskull 4024
Idea : Sokoban-like game with hex-based grid.
OK, first off, not really sure what all the loving of Hexagons is about, but the word Hex is in the suggestion bag about 20-odd times!
People appear to really like Hexagons!
The Hexagonal Maze is in the archive. It's a half assed game, but I like it.
Sokoban kinda needs specific controls, since you have to be able to move ...

This week's Wednesday Workshop suggests we should make a Pacman game.
I've already done "Blockman Forever" this year, so I'm going to avoid retreading old ground.
Instead I'm going the Puzzle route.
Already I've got a lovely little set of graphics going, and am obviously reusing Blockman because.. .. well, why not!!!
A few mazes are set up, ready to go, as well as the first of the neat little puzzle mechanics...
I'm now trying to come up with a nice batch of extra puzzle e...

A Game in a Day!
Blog
26th July 2009
I started a game, today.
It was going to be a nice maze thing, but..
Well, I attempted to do it in 3D, and as you're probably well aware, I can't really do things in 3D!
It all went pair shaped!
I might give it another go tomorrow, but in 2D instead!
Or, I might try something else.
Not sure.
Either way, if I'm still aiming for a game this week, I really oughta get a whole game done tomorrow!!
fingers crossed!

Splat 2000
Blog
12th May 2009
This week's Wednesday Workshop (#200! wowie) asked us to create a game using no more than 2000 characters.
I managed to recreate the classic 8-bit title "Splat!", whereby you control a spider through a maze, picking up fruit.
In order to squeeze all that into 2000 characters, I opted for simpler mouse movement, and few other bits and pieces.
Then I figured, what the heck, and decided to make it a wee bit bigger for AGameAWeek.
Guide the worm through the maze, grab the circles, avoid the squares, a...

31st March 2009
I had intended to update this a fair bit. Add music, add extra pickups, things like that.
But in the end, I instead decided to leave it as it is.
This is (with added Highscore table) pretty much as it is at the end of the two hour session.
A nice simple game, with a basic gameplay method.
Guide the "worm" through the maze, grab all the blue + blobs, and avoid the barrels.
They're very very volatile, so.. best to keep clear of 'em all..
(Although, you do get points for blowing them up....

And, back to the old routine we go..
This week's AGameAWeek sees our old friends the Space Monkeys, rolling around in balls, through a maze, to get the bananas.. Again!
As with Super Monkey Balls, you needn't get all the bananas, just reach the goal, and try to get through all 8 available levels.

8 levels not enough? Tough..
I've got other things to code! (Like that Countdown game I st...

What a year, eh!
I decided to round off the year with a nice big, old fashioned list, with everything in it.
Except this doesn't have everything in it, because I've forgotten to add the DS games.. I'll do that later!! (Took me about 3 hours to do this, so I'm not going to tweak it, now!!)
Anyway, here's a nice great big list of every game (again, apart from the DS ones) that I made in 2008. It's quite a big list, too..
31 Games.

A more accurate title would be "Just like Windows Vista, here's a list of things I told you I'd be putting in, but haven't yet bothered to, so will be missing when I release the game.."

If you're following development of Platdude's Retro Collection hoping for a new batch of great games, then you're in luck! TWO great games have been added, TWO rubbishy games have been added, and ONE more game is being worked on right now, as I type this..
Games 1 and 2 are listed in the official page, the Missile Command and Extract games. Nice, simple, retro, fast and fun.
Game 3 was also simple and fast. It's the usual "Things pop up, then you tap them. You get a minute, score as mu...

Greenie!

Most of my remakes seem to fall into a single category, in that they all tend to feature my character Greenie.
To be honest, I'm not sure why I started doing this. It was never something I planned, it just kind of happened that way!
Still, here's a whole page dedicated to that stupid bumbling idiot!
